A few years ago the browser war was hyped as Internet Explorer VS Netscape.
At present however there is far more competition with Internet Explorer's domination of the browser market decreasing. The popularity of new browsers such as Firefox is constantly increasing.

How does this effect website design?

Depending upon the browser the appearance of a website can vary. A website design that uses CSS style sheets can vary greatly when viewed in different browsers. This can make it extremely difficult when designing a website with accessibility in mind.

What is the solution?

When a website is designed it is necessary to take into account both the different types of users and browsers. However it may not always be possible for a website design to look exactly the same in all browsers.
